Spray & Powder Coating Painter

Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada – near Toronto Pearson International Airport

We are looking for a skilled Spray Painter to join our production team. As a Spray & Powder Coating Painter, you will be responsible for mixing the coating liquids, spraying each layer according to specifications, and operating the paint curing oven. You may also be required to paint decorative designs using stencils and coat hard-to-reach areas using a hand brush.

To ensure success as a Spray Painter, you should have excellent hand-eye coordination, good knowledge of paint mixing techniques, and strong attention to detail. A top-class Spray Painter should be able to produce even, hard-wearing coatings that exactly match the colors and finishes requested.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Read the instructions of the coating method
  • Overlooking and helping remove rust and other loose materials using acid or a wire brush
  • Applying masking tape and coverings over areas that are not being sprayed
  • Selecting and mixing the required coating liquids
  • Selecting and attaching the correct spray nozzle to create the desired spray pattern
  • Knowledge of various painting methods and applications
  • Operate hand-held spray guns to spray paint or coat various products
  • Cleaning spray cans, nozzles, and other spraying equipment after each spray job
  • Maintain clean all painting equipment, paint booth and curing oven
  • Operating the curing oven with correct selections of required parameters
  • Inspecting and assessing spray coatings after the paint has dried
  • Maintain assigned work area and equipment in a safe and professional manner

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience working as a spray painter for a minimum of 3 years
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination
  • In-depth knowledge of paint mixing and spraying techniques
  • Experience with breathing masks and protective clothing
  • Ability to be in an enclosed room (paint booth)
  • Experience with hand-held spray guns
  • Experience and ability applying paint with brush and roll
