LEAD HAND – SHIPPING & RECEIVING

Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada – near Toronto Pearson International Airport

LaserNett Inc. is a well-established, state of the art laser cutting and custom metal fabrication facility, currently seeking a Lead Hand – Shipper & Receiver. Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Making sure shipping schedule is being followed and work orders are ready to be shipped in a timely manner
  • Scheduling couriers, maintaining shipping records, including tracking and shipping history information
  • Standard Shipping & Receiving duties including verification of items received with a corresponding purchase order
  • Packing items into boxes and onto skids prior to shipping
  • Building custom wooden skids and crates based on shipment size
  • Loading and unloading products utilizing available pallet jacks, forklifts etc.
  • Determining method of shipment and preparing waybills, invoices and other shipping documents
  • Other duties/tasks related to Shipping/Receiving as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Shipping and Receiving required
  • Experience in a Manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience driving a warehouse forklift
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work with tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Strong sense of time organization and urgency
  • Knowledge of MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong self-discipline and sense of urgency

 Additional Preferred Competencies:

  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Familiarity with a computer and knowledge of scheduling various shipping couriers
  • Proven self-starter who is able to work with minimal supervision and within a team
  • Ability to establish and maintain constructive working relationships with people
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks on a daily basis in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Reliable and excellent attendance
