Estimator/Sales Support

Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada – (Hwy 401/403/410 Area)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze customer drawings, specifications, bid packages, and other documentation to establish labor requirements, prepare job routers, and create bills of material to fabricate a product
  • Interact with customers directly to gather the necessary information in order to quote jobs per print or per package
  • Actively engage with other members of the company to continuously strive to improve processes, create efficiencies, and reduce costs
  • Consult with customers, vendors, personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
  • Prepare estimates used by management for purposes, such as planning, lead-times, and scheduling work
  • Assess the cost-effectiveness of products, projects, or services and track actual costs relative to quote estimates as manufacturing orders are completed

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Completion of post-secondary education and/or 1-3+ years relevant work experience
  • Proficient in the estimation of sheet metal fabrication costs and quote submissions
  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication methods and materials
  • Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings/specifications and models
  • Able to build strong relationships
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, adaptable environment
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Must be able to meet deadlines, multi-task, and work under pressure
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook

Additional Preferred Competencies: 

  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication methods and materials
  • Prior experience utilizing estimating software packages
  • Experience with 3D CAD (SolidWorks)
  • Ability and motivation to negotiate to “win-win” outcomes with our customers
